Social Innovation and Social Entrepreneurship

Social Innovation and Social Entrepreneurship
While entrepreneurs have been around for centuries, social entrepreneurship is a new and growing field that combines a student’s passion for a social mission with a strong and robust experience in a particular academic area.

Students will have opportunities to participate in internships, study abroad programs and student-run businesses on the TLU campus. Students gain leadership experience by participating in the many social and service organizations on campus. There are many study abroad programs available to give entrepreneur students the opportunity to learn about growing a business internationally. Faculty can also help connect students to rising entrepreneurs in the area for internships and mentoring. Most importantly, students will graduate with a complete business plan for their portfolio.

TLU's Bachelor of Arts in Social Innovation and Social Entrepreneurship is part of our business school but also partners with our math, history, theology and communications departments to create specialized areas of concentration in Nonprofit Leadership, Arts for Social Change, Mental Health Community Interventions, and Faith, Culture & Diversity. The degree is interdisciplinary and prepares you for a career in the nonprofit or for-profit social venture arenas.
