The newest inductees participated in the "Jacket Passing" ceremony to become official members of the 2015-2016 Black & Gold President's Council. New members include: Derek Cantu, Caitlyn Collins, Adam Kinyicky, Sioned Kirkpatrick, Megan Larsen, Amanda Lochte, Alexandria Pruden and Alyssa Watson. Former BGPC members and graduating seniors helped new members into their black blazers as part of the initiation into the prestigious group. TLU First Lady Michelle Dorsey fastened the BGPC pin to each member's lapel before President Stuart Dorsey handed them a certificate and shaking hands for photos.

Senior BGPC members who will be walking the stage this May to receive their diplomas include: Anais Avilez, Arthur Babcock, Zach Jacobs, David Lizaragga, Aissa Maese, Shyla Tatsch (former Secretary), Jamie Moellenhoff (founding member, former President)

The council's advisor, Michelle Dorsey, is joined by staff from the president's office to help with the group: Assistant to the President for Administration & Public Affairs Steve Anderson, who called up each former and new member during the ceremony, as well as Executive Assistant to the President Susan Rinn. The Alumni Relations & Development office continues to help in networking opportunities and event planning.

The Black & Gold President’s Council is a prestigious honor for outstanding students and membership is competitive. The students chosen for BGPC must be nominated by a faculty or staff member and undergo an interview process. Once selected, they must maintain a 3.0 G.P.A. Students learn social leadership as they attend presidential, development or alumni events, and receive formal training in professional etiquette and gain valuable experience in networking with TLU alumni and friends.
